Join us for an evening with local Guided Autobiography instructor Amy Anderson Chen as she leads us through the process of writing and developing our lives into stories. This workshop is designed to be taught in a small group setting and requires a notebook and something to write with.
Guided Autobiography (GAB): Guided Autobiography is a developed process of writing and sharing life stories in a small group setting. Participants write two pages at home on an instructor-provided theme and then share them aloud in class, with the group providing only positive feedback. Originally researched and created in the mid-1970's by James Birren, PhD, GAB provides numerous benefits like decreased anxiety and depression, feelings of connectedness and friendship, and increased energy and vigor.
About the Workshop: This workshop is designed to help you tap into your life experiences and transform them into compelling stories. Guided Autobiography (GAB) is a unique approach to writing memoir that combines the power of guided reminiscence with writing exercises. Whether you are a seasoned writer or just starting out, GAB offers a structured, supportive environment to explore your memories, reflect on your life, and create meaningful narratives.
