Doug Margeson is the author of many fictional short stories and his story “Barton’s Pipe” was chosen for the anthology Best Indie Lit New England Vol.2 2015. He is a former newspaper reporter and has written two feature film screenplays and has taught as a guest lecturer at the UW and for the Pacific NW Writer’s Conference.

Gazing At The Distant Lights: Gazing A The Distant Lights takes a look at the individual’s desire to simply be left alone, and authority’s obsession for making him conform. In Gazing At The Distant Lights, authority ultimately wins-sort of-which is the way things work in the proverbial real world. Meanwhile, we keep on living with as much hope as we can muster.
